Image Moderation Policy
Last updated 29 October 2026Version 0.1
Images on Joy & Jack are illustrations for your stories. This policy explains where they come from and how we keep them within our rules.
1. Where our images come from
- Story covers are generated by us with an AI image model, from a short description of the story's scene. They are not photographs and do not depict real people.
- Character and place cards may show a licensed stock photograph from Unsplash, chosen by search words, with credit to its photographer. These are ordinary, non-sexual photographs.
- No uploads: you cannot upload images to Joy & Jack.
2. The rules every image follows
- Every character shown is clearly an adult.
- No realistic likeness of a real, identifiable person, and no stock photograph is presented as a real person in the story.
- No nudity or sexually explicit imagery: covers are suggestive at most, in the style of a book cover.
- None of the themes forbidden by our Acceptable Use Policy.
3. How we check images
- Before generation: the story request has already passed our content checks. The cover description is then written with fixed safeguards that exclude nudity, explicit content and real people.
- During generation: the image model's own safety checker stays switched on; an image it flags is not delivered.
- After generation: {{CONFIRM}} automated review of each image before it is shown.
- Human review: {{CONFIRM}} images that are reported or flagged go to a review queue handled by a person.
- Re-scanning: {{CONFIRM}} existing images are re-checked when our rules or tools improve.
4. Takedown
If an image breaks these rules, or you believe it resembles you, tell us at hello@joyandjack.com or through our Report Non-Consensual Imagery page. We remove the image while we review the report.
