Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated 29 October 2026Version 0.1
Joy & Jack exists to write romance and sensual fiction between consenting adults, at the intensity you choose. This policy sets the boundaries. It applies to everything you send us: story ideas, details, names, messages to support and feedback.
1. What is welcome
- Fiction between adult characters who clearly want to be there, from tender to very explicit, at the comfort level you choose.
- Any setting or genre you like: contemporary, historical, fantasy, workplace, holiday romance and more, as long as everyone involved is an adult who consents.
- Your own invented details: names, places, memories, an inside joke. Please do not include anyone's personal information without their consent.
2. What we never write
Whatever the framing (fantasy, role-play, "it's only fiction"), we never write:
- Minors: any character under 18, or a character who looks, behaves or is described as childlike, in a sexual or romantic context. This includes school settings for minors and ambiguous ages.
- Incest: sexual or romantic relationships between family members, including step-family.
- Non-consent and coercion: non-consensual acts, coercion, blackmail, or intoxication that prevents consent, including role-played or "consensual non-consent".
- Sexual violence of any kind.
- Bestiality: any sexual content involving animals.
- Necrophilia.
- Real or identifiable people: celebrities, public figures, or private individuals such as an ex-partner, a colleague or a neighbour, whether named or recognisable.
- Copyrighted or trademarked characters from books, films, games or other works.
- Hate: content that degrades or attacks people for who they are.
- Self-harm: content that promotes or encourages self-harm or suicide.
- Illegal activity: content that promotes or gives instructions for crimes.
- Doxxing: revealing anyone's personal information, such as an address, workplace or contact details.
3. How we enforce it
Every request is checked before we write, and every story after. When a request breaks these rules, we tell you which rule it touches so you can rephrase it. A story that breaks them is not stored.
When someone keeps trying, we apply these steps, depending on how serious and repeated the behaviour is:
- A refused request, with an explanation.
- A warning on the account.
- A temporary suspension.
- Closing the account.
Anything involving minors leads to immediate closure and, where the law requires, a report to the authorities.
4. Appeals
If you think we got it wrong, write to hello@joyandjack.com or follow our Complaints Policy. A person reviews every appeal.
