Fair Use Policy
Last updated 29 October 2026Version 0.1
Every story we write and every minute we narrate runs on real computing power. Limits keep Joy & Jack fast, affordable and available for everyone. Most readers never notice them.
1. Why limits exist
Writing a story takes several AI calls: planning, writing, checking it against our rules and, for Premium, narration. Fair limits let us keep written stories free, keep Premium at a fair price, and stop a few automated accounts from slowing things down for everyone else.
2. Limits per plan
{{LIMITS_TABLE}}
Limits run on a rolling window: a slot opens again 24 hours after the story that used it. A request refused by our content checks still counts, so that the checks cannot be used to probe our rules.
3. What counts as abuse
- Using bots, scripts or any automated means to generate stories or narration.
- Scraping the site or the stories.
- Sharing one account between several people, or creating several accounts to get around limits.
- Reselling stories or narration produced under a personal plan, or offering access to the Services to others.
- Deliberately overloading the Services or trying to bypass limits.
4. When you reach a limit
We tell you when your next story will be available. Nothing is lost: your library stays as it is. If the limit was reached through abuse, we may also apply the steps in our Trust and Safety page, from a warning up to closing the account.
5. Need more?
If you write or listen more than your plan allows for a genuine personal reason, tell us at hello@joyandjack.com. We read every request and will see what we can do.
